Speaker Marvin T. Yamaguchi and the leadership of the Eleventh Pohnpei officially received and welcomed a delegation from the COM Land Grant Programs on Friday, January 30, 2025. The purpose of this visit was to introduce the members of the board of land grant and introduce the proposed Treaty Agreement between the Colleges of the FSM, ROP and RMI. The Delegation consisted of Chairman of the Board of Regents, Honorable Governor of Peleliu, Dr. Emais Roberts, Vice-chair Mrs. Suzanne Lowe-Gallen, Secretary/Treasurer Minister Gerald Zackio of the RMI Ministry of Education, Executive Director of COM Land Grant Mr. Stanley Lorenij, President of COM-FSM, Dr. Theresa Koroivulaono, President of Palau Community College Dr. Patrick Tellei, and personnel from the College of Micronesia. The Land grant has been actively conducting research in the region and has lots of data that are essential to and can be useful in maneuvering our regions to a sustainable economy shaped by well-crafted and informed policies. The delegation expressed gratitude to the Legislature for continued support and cooperation.
