Standing Committee on Land
Manages land tenure, property rights, land use planning, boundary disputes, and customary land matters throughout Pohnpei State.
Land. The Standing Committee on Land has nine members. This Committee has purview over matters pertaining generally to land management and zoning, housing, public parks and recreation areas, forest reserves, watershed areas, public trust lands, and government interests in real property, including entry, easements and dispositions thereof, geological surveys, mortgages and deeds of trust of interests in land, and the activities and operations of the Department of Land, except the Division of Historic Preservation, and the Pohnpei Housing Authority. It considers and reports on all bills, resolutions, financial requests, and other matters referred to it by the Legislature or within its oversight jurisdiction.
