Standing Committee on Judiciary and Governmental Operations

Judiciary and Governmental Operations.  The Committee on Judiciary and Governmental Operations has nine members.  This Committee has purview over matters pertaining to civil and criminal law, judicial administration and organization, customary law, suffrage and elections, revision of statutes, governmental organization, intergovernmental relations and the activities and operations of the offices of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor, the Department of Public Safety, the Office of the Attorney General, the Division of Personnel, Labor and Manpower Development of the Department of Treasury and Administration, the Pohnpei Judiciary, the Pohnpei Legislature, and the budgets of the local governments. It considers and reports on all bills, resolutions, financial requests, and other matters referred to it by the Legislature or within its oversight jurisdiction.
